The Template has been scanned and uploaded as a PNG image. Right Click - Copy and Paste onto a Word Document to print. Why a Word Doc? It will save on your printers ink versus a Photo print out.

Instructions too - if you wish to have a hard copy to keep.

Share far and wide, full permission given to teachers too.

If this Template does not print as a circle, ask and I will send a PDF

Painting Adventure

I have accepted my Invitation to claim my State Pension, and it changes my outlook on what I want to do in the future within my Painting Journey.

Covid 19 upset what we knew as "normal" into a new way of how to live.
Luckily for me I didn't feel the loneliness and isolation which sadly others do and did x

Mind you without the Internet and Zoom it would have been totally different, the miles between my painterly friends have disappeared within a monitor screen!

Painting with fellow BADFA members (a painting group here in UK) + teaching a few students happy to use Zoom + the Classes taken with International teachers mainly with Artful Webinars I have kept my brushes wet and accumulated lots of new Art Work and new techniques too.

Back to my Adventure - my Pension Age Goal Post is in sight at last. Delayed by 6 years but it is very close now!!!!
Decided I would change my teaching plan, move into videoed classes and some free lessons too.
Sharing what I love to paint with any one wishing to join me.

Alongside this I hope to still take on-line classes and socially paint too on Zoom.

So watch this space my Introduction video is HERE.
It will be a rare occurrence to actually see me, as I am extremely camera shy.

Take Care, Keep Safe
Happy Painting

Studio Update

 Latest News.......

It has been a strange few months.
Covid has knocked some things sideways!

My current plans for the future .......

My son is moving out in Oct/Nov, I will be moving my teaching stash up into his bedroom, the area is big enough for social distancing measures and Covid friendly and warmer too as we move into cooler weather.

I have a "How to Teach on Zoom" Workshop later today. With Cindy Harrison.
Face Book Group "Artfully Connected with Cindy Harrison. Looking forward to learning from an experienced teacher already online x

I have invested in a Business Account with Zoom. It time to move on into other options of teaching so Online I am going alongside face to face teaching when it is possible to do so.

A couple of students have been happy to be testers for me and I think I have at last sorted out the best placement for my Web Cam, but may need more devices too!

Debs and I have finally finished our Betty Caithness Mirrors that we started last November, this is mine, am waiting for a photo from Debs x

Sally & Kath had a fun session - Horse Silhouettes inspired by an image on Pinterest

Sally's Lilacs a Maureen McNaughton design which we tweaked using different colours.

The Poinsettia is a free project I have just finished painting.
Find it on the Facebook Group "Lets Paint with Plaid.
Andy Jones is a superb teacher.

........ Zoom projects to plan ...........moving studio .......... more projects to paint Online ...........
eventually eager to return students will be painting with me once more.
Until then, keep safe.
Happy Painting

Studio News

My STUDIO IS CURRENTLY CLOSED and TRAVEL TEACHING has been put on hold too.

Covid 19 has changed so much of what is possible, practical or sensible for me to do during this pandemic.

Going by Government guidance and my own feelings within my medical situation, I am basically shielding with sensible leeway!

Grab a Coffee, sit and read, enjoy and comment too?

What have I been doing since March?

To start I went into a painting frenzy, plotting and planning new projects to tempt current Intermediate students.

No 1  A Ros Stallcup Beach Scene

No 2 Button Coasters (Sandra Malone design)

No 3 Sheep Shepherd - my take on a Ronnie Bringle design

No 4 Lucy & Ethel - a Deb Mishima design

A mixed bag of projects and was tempted to try more from my ENORMOUS wish to paint list!

So what stopped me?
Basically two reasons:
  • I prefer my Intermediate students to have more of their own choice in what they would like to try and 4 new projects would keep them busy, whilst I planned what their ideas are, either another artists work or a new design to work through.

  • And it hit home that this COVID Malarkey is not a quick flash in the pan job!! It will most probably hang around for a few years? Especially as we open up to wider based travel limits.

I will most probably get back to that enormous wish to paint list, it will no doubt get bigger.
It is too tempting seeing all the delightful new designs that are continuously coming off designers painting tables.

The digital world has made life so much easier for painters and teachers to buy an E-Pkt, download, print it and paint it.

I have done a bit of filming, Susan requested an Iris for her sisters birthday, took a while to decide which technique to use. Plumped for "Petit Lac" (Little Lake) Nearest description is most probably a cross over between Water Colour and Stained Glass.

Can not take credit for this one.
Artist Unknown.

My last video for my YouTube Channel was several years ago!

I did enjoy the filming then and now.
Is it an option for my current situation.
Not sharing my knowledge is a tad strange, feeling rudderless at times!

My editing skills are extremely rusty, took time to do and send out to everyone.

Two brave students sent me their creations, am so proud of them both, not just for trying, but mainly for their finished work WOW. Thank you Susan & Jane x

So what are my plans for the Future?

In my usual contemplations I have done nothing! Waiting for inspirations...........

My present thoughts are Private FaceBook Groups, each dedicated to a level of techniques for anyone, which will move through into my Courses.
Membership has to be researched so am still planning.

Zoom and videos are coming up to the top of the pile of thoughts.

A business course with Outset Cornwall has opened doors into what is possible, learnt so much regarding social media, digital marketing and so much more........
.....but do I want to up my game into a fully fledged business or carry on as a Hobby Based Business.

My State Pension is now looming within 2 years.

I've decided I still want to share my knowledge but I still want to have fun doing it!
Have my cake and eat it too!!

So - It is Hobby Business, just the way it is, BUT the current situation will not change for me. I don't feel comfortable enough to open the studio. Online I will go.

Next step?

Watch this space the thoughts are chasing each other in ever increasing circles.

Look for the next post.

Happy Painting Everyone
